Special Reports
Intersuisse maintains three stock market sector Indices - the Intersuisse Small Cap Index, The Intersuisse Reources Index and the Intersuisse Biotechnology Index.
These indices were initiated to fill information gaps. The Intersuisse Biotechnology Index has been covering the 'biotechnology' or 'life sciences' companies since January 1996. Coverage has grown with the sector, from some 20 to over 100 companies. The Index works like any of the S&P/ASX Indices and is based on quoted ordinary shares on issue but its weighting of a company is based on the logarithm of its market capitalisation rather than the actual market cap. Thus while a larger company has a heavier weighting, the price moves of the largest do not tend to obscure the smaller companies as can be the case with life sciences. The same basis of computation is used in the Intersuisse Resources Index and the Intersuisse Small Cap Index, both begun from July 2001. Some companies and institutions find these indices of value, given that they cover actively traded mid-cap and smaller companies not readily weighed against or counted in other available indices.
In addition, the Research Department also prepares various short reports, such as short updates on floating rate notes and reset preference issues, at monthly or bi-monthly intervals, This is a complex field but many of our clients find such high-yielding yet relatively stable listed investments a valuable addition to their portfolios.
We maintain a current Portfolio Stock List and Emerging Portfolio Stock List, giving key profit, earnings per share and dividend figures for the last year and estimates for the current and next year, with P/E ratio and yield at the price at time of issue.
Please contact your Intersuisse Advisor for further information or if any such research is of interest to you.
